Rt. Hon. Jeffrey Donaldson MP

Youtube must not glorify terrorism - Donaldson

DUP Member of Parliament for Lagan Valley, Jeffrey Donaldson has contacted YouTube to register his concern about dissident republican propaganda being posted on the site.

Speaking today Jeffrey Donaldson MP MLA said:

“I recognise that a site the size of YouTube that is a world-wide internet presence which has millions of visitors every day is difficult to regulate. Nevertheless the pro-dissident republican terrorist propaganda being posted on this site is utterly offensive and must be removed as a matter of priority.

The Real IRA was responsible for the brutal murder of Sappers Mark Quinsey, Patrick Azimkar and Constable Stephen Carroll. Ordinary men and women throughout Northern Ireland were repulsed by these crimes. They are resolute in their determination that these evil terrorists will not succeed in dragging our Province back in to the dark days of death and bloodshed.

Those who would seek to use YouTube to attempt to glorify the actions of these evil murderers need to be stopped. Glorifying terrorism is a criminal offence and YouTube should not be used to facilitate such a twisted agenda. I look forward to this insidious propaganda being removed."
